What is the job for me ? - At Portfolio Business Solutions we believe that the secret to getting the new job that you want is ensure that you prepare thoroughly and as early as possible and to do the basics to a high standard.
Before spending days and weeks trying just to find any job, have you asked yourself a few basic questions about the type of job you want to do?
As we go through your answers we will be able to build a profile for yourself and help you understand How do I find a career.
Question 1 - What job do you really want to do and why?
We will take you though the simple process of creating a profile for yourself, what interests you have and how you could target getting a job in those areas that you are actually interested in.
This may seem fairly obvious, but too many times we met people who are just trying to any job - rather than a job in an area that they are actually interested in and would therefore be naturally good at doing.
Once we have established what job you actually want to do and why then we will review your covering letter and CV to make sure that it is clear to anyone who receives them that this is case.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a covering letter or CV as we can also help you to create these from scratch.
Question 2 - Do you have a covering letter and CV that clearly describes why you want to do that job?
Question 3 - Where are you looking to find a job?
The job market has changed radically since the introduction of the internet, e-mail and interactive mobile phones. Job vacancies can be filled almost as soon as they have been advertised. Knowing where to look and how to apply as quickly as possible is vital to increasing your chances of getting an initial interview - either face to face or over the phone.
We do provide employee redundancy support for anyone who is looking to go back to work following being made redundant.
